1905 Garret & Co. Lithograph
Garrett & Co. established in 1835 in North Carolina. They pioneered American winemaking using the native Scuppernong grapes of the region. Famed for its “Virginia Dare” wine, Garrett & Co. became a national empire. They operated the massive Mission Vineyard Winery in Cucamonga, California, in 1903, sourcing grapes throughout the state, including Sonoma County. They were absorbed by Constellation Wines in 1965. In 2013, Francis Ford Coppola purchased Geyser Peak Winery in Geyserville, Sonoma County, California, and rebranded the facility as Virginia Dare Winery. This is a very uncommon lithograph from about 1905.
