This is the 5th Annual Exhibition poster for the Marin and Sonoma District Agricultural Society. This broadside was published by the Russian River Flag Sept, 25,1871. It clearly illustrates how important agriculture and husbandry were in the day. Big purses for horse racing, 14 classes of exhibiting, and lots of information about early grape growing, wines, cooperage, and agricultural tooling in these counties. It was a big deal! This is a framed piece that measures 36” X 27” / 30” X 22” by itself. This fair was held at the Petaluma Fairgrounds and track. This is the only known copy of this broadside.
